Educators strive to reduce physical violence in high schools

Incidents of school crime and bullying are on the decline, according to a new federal report, but high school educators are still working to eliminate physical violence on campus. Recently, 16-year-old Amy Joyner-Francis died from injuries suffered in an assault involving four students in a restroom at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, Delaware, The Associated Press reported. High school educators say building a positive culture where everyone respects one another is key to eliminating and preventing physical violence at school.
