University of Calgary researchers make explosive geyser discovery
from Metro News
Researchers at the University of Calgary are making a splash in the world of geoscience — and what they've discovered could change what we thought we knew about geysers. Geysers are vents in Earth's surface that periodically eject a column of hot water and steam. After weeks of monitoring the waters of Yellowstone National Park's Spouter Geyser, the U of C researchers said they've made an important discovery. "Typical thought around geysers is about hot water and steam build up and rarely are dissolved gases mentioned," said research associates Bethany Ladd.
