Nurses honor guards pay tribute to those who serve
from By Joan Spitrey
Each Memorial Day, time is taken to remember those who have given their lives for our country. At memorial services across the nation, honor guards from various military branches will ceremoniously provide funeral honors for fallen soldiers. These volunteers will bring dignity, respect and reverence to those they attend. Considering many traditions in nursing are closely tied to military traditions, it is of no surprise that the concept of a nurses honor guard has grown in interest.
