Portland joins 3 Connecticut towns in banning fracking waste
from The Middletown Press
The town has taken a stand against allowing fracking waste from being disposed of in town. The Board of Selectmen voted 7-0 to ban drilling and extraction wastes from being shipped into town for use or dumping. Portland is now the fourth town in the state to impose such a ban, joining Washington, Coventry and Mansfield (in that order).
