NDPTC requests your help — complete survey by July 4 to access evacuation training needs
A research team from the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) at the University of Hawaii (
), led by Dr. Karl Kim, in cooperation with Dr. Brian Wolshon of Center for Evacuation and Transportation Resiliency at Louisiana State University, is conducting a
to assess evacuation training needs for communities both in the United States and abroad. It includes questions on hazards and evacuation activities and whether or not your community has developed evacuation plans and if any formal training has been developed. The findings will be used to assess and understand evacuation practices among first responders, emergency managers, transportation planners and disaster managers. Findings will be incorporated into FEMA certified training programs and various academic and technical publications. All information collected through this survey will be kept confidential.
