Officers trained for active shooters, thanks to Cornyn's POLICE Act
from Your Houston News
Federal grants are helping Montgomery County law enforcement and first responders train for active-shooter situations. Sen. John Cornyn cosponsored a bill signed into law last month that authorizes the use of existing federal grants for the training. The Protecting Our Lives by Initiating COPS Expansion (POLICE) Act enables the use of COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) funding for active-shooter training across the nation.
