Texas under pressure to pass statewide texting ban
Texas is feeling the pressure to ban texting and driving, statewide. Dozens of cities have done it, but that's created a patchwork of different laws and gaps where no ban exists. Studies show the average driver is distracted for five seconds while making a text. At 55 miles per hour, that distracted driver would have covered the length of a football field. It's dangerous and reckless — and life threatening.
