Paramus-based water company using wi-fi to transmit the meter readings
from The Record
Something unexpected happened when the Paramus-based water company Suez began installing a new high-tech way to track water usage. It turned up signs of household leaks that meant customers were paying for water they weren't even using. The new system, called advanced metering infrastructure, is being installed for 200,000 customers over much of Bergen County, in a five-year, $13 million effort. The system uses wi-fi to transmit the meter readings.
