|Business Recovery Fund is ready to assist industry companies affected by Louisiana flooding
Heavy rains this month in Louisiana, in some parts nearly 30 inches, have damaged or destroyed tens of thousands of homes, taken at least 13 lives and left a multibillion-dollar cleanup bill. According to the National Weather Service, the storm dropped more than three times as much water on the state as Hurricane Katrina. For industry businesses affected by the rain and flooding, the Business Recovery Fund (BRF), supported by PPAI and the Regional Association Council (RAC), stands ready to help companies in need.
The BRF has reached out to 244 companies located in the affected area to let them know that funds are available to help them recover. The first step is filling out a needs assessment form and e-mailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Responses are typically sent in fewer than five business days. The BRF has already received at least one request for assistance.
Industry members are also collecting donations and supplies for those suffering from the storm’s effects. Tammy Cormier, owner of distributor Trinity Promotional in New Iberia, Louisiana, is the acting point of contact for any product donations. She can be reached at 337-305-9566 or email@example.com.
The BRF's mission is to help distributors and suppliers re-establish their businesses after a federally declared natural disaster. Its focus is to meet the needs of those in the promotional products industry whose businesses have been lost, interrupted or damaged due to disaster. The fund can help replace lost equipment and supplies such as computers, cell phones, office supplies, promotional products catalogs and samples; provide a work area, or give other assistance as needed to get a business up and running as soon as possible.
