Measles outbreak may keep some Ottawa kids home from school
from Metro News
Some students may not return to school this week, after three cases of measles surfaced in Ottawa and Lanark County. Two children and one adult contracted the highly contagious virus that manifests as a blotchy rash, fever, cough and white spots in the mouth. It's preventable through a vaccine. All three related incidents are due to unvaccinated or "incompletely vaccinated" patients, according to an Ottawa Public Health release.
