Renault Uses Bio-Based Gloss Black Plastic in Clio Refresh
from Plastics & Rubber Weekly
French automobile manufacturer Renault has begun using a bio-based engineering plastic for the outer mask of the speedometer-tachometer combo for the dashboard of the Clio. Renault’s fourth-generation Clio supermini was introduced in 2012, but has been subject to a mid-cycle refresh in June 2016. The material for the dashboard part has been supplied by the Japanese chemical firm Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC). Renault is the first European car maker to use MCC’s Durabio bio-based engineering plastic.
