Calling all school counselors interested in applying for RAMP!

from OSCPA

Are you ready to take your school counseling program to the next level?!?
On Wednesday, Oct. 5, the Office of School Counseling and Postsecondary Advising is hosting a Recognized ASCA Model Program Kickoff Meeting for all principals and school counseling teams interested in applying for the American School Counselor Association's RAMP (or Re-RAMP) designation. The meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the RAMP application process for 2017, while networking with previous CPS RAMP earners to hear about their experience and benefits of being a RAMP designated school. This is open to counselors outside of the Chicago Public School System. It is strongly encouraged that school counselors attend with an administrator.

The national RAMP designation is awarded to schools that align with a set criteria of the American School Counselor Association's National Model in recognition of a commitment to delivering a comprehensive, developmental, data-driven school counseling program that contributes to student success.

Please register in the Learning Hub for this meeting by Oct. 3:
Course Code: 33169
Class Code: 65276

RAMP is closely tied to the CPS School Counseling Evidence-Based Implementation Plan (EBIP), which all CPS schools are required to submit in September each year. The EBIP Scoring Rubric was based on the RAMP rubric, to assist schools in aligning their school counseling programs with the ASCA National Model. As shown in the table to the right, data suggests that CPS RAMP schools are outperforming non-RAMP schools on several indicators.

RAMP recipients are to be commended for their dedication to serving all students through a school counseling program that demonstrates how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. Please visit www.schoolcounselor.org to learn more about the ASCA National Model and how aligning your school counseling program to this model can improve student achievement in your building.
