Transportation fuels city job gains
from Crain's New York Business
A rising population and tourism have led to significant employment gains in New York City, especially in the transportation sector, according to a recent report. Transportation jobs grew by 8.9 percent over two years, the city-based think tank Center for an Urban Future found in a study. Discussion about the city's thriving job scene tends to center around the other industries in this chart: construction, food services and technology. But right up there with those categories is transportation, which has gained more than 9,000 positions.
