DFW entrepreneur ecosystem, a 10-year perspective
from UT Dallas Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Many factors help large and small businesses thrive in the DFW area, including the relatively low cost of living (96.1% of the U.S average in 2015), availability of a highly skilled workforce (more than 200,000 tech workers), and access to high quality international and regional airports. Large companies also serve as potential customers and/or, in some cases, potential investors in startup companies. Other factors that contribute to a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem include developing a critical mass of startups and serial entrepreneurs in the region and developing appropriate support infrastructure such as business accelerators, co-working spaces, and sources of capital.
