RCAF veteran reflects on career of adventure, service
from Leduc Rep
There isn't a job in the Royal Canadian Air Force that retired Flight Lieutenant Tom Charchuk hasn't done. Charchuk joined the RCAF in July 1950 in Ranfurley, AB. He had been long discussing this career path with one of his high school teachers who was a former radar technician during the Second World War. Charchuk had also been apprenticing during his spare time in an auto shop. He went through selection as a technician where he trained to service radial engines, liquid-cooled engines and jet engines.
