After a long legal battle, Texas is being removed from the Environmental Protection Agency's list of states that need to comply with regulations on cross-state air pollution — this after the EPA targeted the state's coal power plants. Coal-fired power plants and their dirty plumes of smoke, have long been the target of environmental groups in Texas. The EPA tried to crack down on the amount of pollution blowing across state lines by increasing regulation on coal power plants throughout the country. But Texas sued the EPA, entangling the issue in federal court.
