'Uncombable hair' genes uncovered in new study

Most of us have experienced a bad hair day, where no amount of brushing can tame the tresses. For people with "uncombable hair syndrome," this struggle is an everyday occurrence. Now, researchers have uncovered three genes that may be responsible for the disorder. Study co-author professor Regina Betz, of the Institute for Human Genetics at the University of Bonn in Germany, and team recently published the details of their discovery in The American Journal of Human Genetics.
