DISD should develop a Plan B for school buses to protect our most precious cargo
from The Dallas Morning News
How long will it be before Dallas is met with headlines as awful as the tear-stained report out of Chattanooga on Monday afternoon? Five elementary school students were killed, and about two dozen injured, when a school bus loaded with children wrapped itself around a tree. Police have charged the driver with vehicular homicide; the families have only begun to grieve. We hope the answer is never, of course. But it's hard to be confident when the agency paid to transport Dallas-area pupils to school and back each day is so completely bedeviled by woes.
