People in long-term care say 'no' to the dentist
Almost 90 percent of people in long-term care facilities refuse dental services – even when they’re free – new research shows. The research, published in the journal Special Care in Dentistry, finds that the longer a patient stayed at a long-term care facility, such as a nursing home or assisted living facility, the more likely they were to use dental services. But even among those who stayed at the facility for years, just 55 percent of patients used the services.
