Study: US fourth and eighth graders score higher in math and science
from THE Journal
American fourth and eighth graders are scoring better in math than they did in 1995, according to a new international study. The results from the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, issued by the National Center for Education Statistics, also show some improvements over time in science among fourth and eighth graders. In 2015, fourth graders performed better in the TIMSS science assessments than in 2003 and 2007. However, there was no measureable difference between the average science score in 2015 and the average score in 1995 or 2011.
