Shana Kelley Earns 2016 SLAS Innovation Award
From Feb. 3:
Shana Kelley of the University of Toronto took home top honors and a $10,000 check for her SLAS2016 scientific presentation, "New Devices for the Detection and Classification of Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria." Kelley described her team's work to develop new electrochemical tools for direct molecular analysis of bacteria — some in less than 30 minutes — and the potential clinical applications of these tools. In addition to the cash award, Kelley receives a one-year SLAS membership, is invited to have her work featured in either JALA or JBS and joins the judging panel for the 2017 SLAS Innovation Award.
