MacKay: Super Hornet decision will be costly on all fronts
from Toronto Sun
The Liberal government's decision to purchase 18 Super Hornets as an interim "solution" will fundamentally hurt the Canadian Armed Forces and cost Canadian taxpayers jobs and billions of dollars. The nebulous justification of the urgent "capability gap" runs contrary to the testimony of Lt.-Gen. Mike Hood, the head of the Royal Canadian Air Force, when just six months ago, he told the House of Commons National Defence Committee that the current fleet of CF-18's could carry out its missions until 2025.
