Special Feature: Human Trafficking
from NCJRS
Human trafficking has been defined as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of adults and children by improper means (such as force, abduction, fraud, or coercion) for an improper purpose including forced labor or sexual exploitation.
Although human trafficking affects every demographic, a common factor across all forms of modern slavery is the victims’ vulnerability to exploitation due to systemic social, cultural, and economic policies that marginalize or discriminate against individuals. more
