New bill would require seatbelts on school buses
from Holland Sentinel
Michigan school buses would have to have seatbelts for students, under a new bill introduced in the House on Wednesday, Jan. 18. House Bill 4045, introduced by State Rep. Robert Kosowski, D-Westland, would require school buses purchased after the law went into effect to have one safety belt for each student on the bus. The law does not require buses already in service to have seatbelts installed. Kosowski has introduced a similar bill in 2014 and 2015.
