A vitamin is a micronutrient that is essential to human nutrition. There are two classifications of vitamins; water soluble and fat soluble. Because water soluble vitamins dissolve in water; in a healthy individual, the body takes what it needs and then excretes excess in our urine. Because water soluble vitamins are not often stored in the body they need to be consumed on a regular basis.
