A life in the sky
from Moose Jaw Times-Herald
Al Seward began flying airplanes when he was 18 years old, a love affair that has continued his entire life. Seward flew for five years in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), then graduated to flight instructor and eventually joined the search and rescue team. After RCAF, he became a water bomber pilot fighting forest fires around the world. "It's the most dangerous flying you can do," Seward said, now retired in his 90s.
