Military contractor admits bribes, kickbacks for work at
New Jersey bases
A former construction contractor for U.S. military facilities in New Jersey admitted Tuesday to paying more than $90,000 in bribes to an Army employee to secure subcontracts at two bases. George Grassie, of Covington Township, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark to charges of conspiring to defraud the United States and commit bribery, and providing unlawful kickbacks, according to a statement from the office of U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman.
