Elderly people who choose the wrong shoes have a lower quality of life
In 2015, a research team led by the University of A Coruña conducted a study with people with a mean age of 80 years. In it, they analysed whether the changes to foot morphology that occur in elderly individuals, and their tolerance for pain, led to them using the wrong shoes. They concluded that the majority (83 percent) did not use the correct size and that, on occasions, they should have been using a different size for each foot.
