Fugitive charged in shooting released under bail reform
A township man who was a fugitive for nearly two months before surrendering to authorities was released on no bail under the state's new Bail Reform Guidelines, according to court documents obtained by NJ Advance Media. Jaki N. Hooks-Lewis, 20, was charged with second-degree aggravated assault in the Jan. 3 shooting of a 31-year-old male, authorities said.
