House panel aims to finish must-pass aviation bill by August
from The Hill
The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is aiming to wrap up work on a must-pass aviation bill by the August recess, according to a top panel aide. Holly E. Woodruff Lyons, deputy general counsel for the committee and staff director of the aviation subcommittee, said that the goal is to get legislation reauthorizing the Federal Aviation Administration "off the floor by August." The FAA's legal authority expires at the end of September, which would give the House and Senate less than two months to hammer out a final product.
