Smartphone push alerts may shorten chest pain ED stays
from MedPage Today
Sending lab results to physicians via their smartphones led to quicker decisions to discharge patients with chest pain from an emergency department, researchers found. Docs who received troponin testing results by smartphone push-alert made the decision to discharge roughly 26 minutes faster than those who did not receive the push notifications, Aikta Verma, MD, of the University of Toronto, and colleagues reported in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.
