Save the date for the 4th Emergency Management Theory and Research Conference to take place Feb. 21-22, 2018, as an open-access virtual event

from IAEM

The 4th Annual Emergency Management Theory and Research Conference will be offered Feb. 21-22, 2018, as a complimentary, academic emergency management conference offered on an open-access virtual platform. A planning committee comprised of emergency management program faculty at Arkansas Tech University, Jacksonville State University, North Dakota State University, and Oklahoma State University is collaborating to coordinate the 4th iteration in a bigger, better, more accessible way. Previous conferences were held in one room for one day at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Management Higher Education Program. With the move to a virtual conference, this event will allow anyone anywhere to present and/or attend. The conference will feature a combination of student, scholar, and practitioner presentations, with feature presentations in these categories: applied and basic research; literature review; theory development; and methods, with a block of time reserved for discussion of emerging research ideas and areas in need of future research. The call for abstracts will be announced mid-June 2017. Questions should be directed to more
