SIPs saved considerable time and reduced the labor costs needed to erect the structure. The walls took only 30 hours and the roof took roughly 20 hours with a five-person crew. As with most SIP construction projects, there was very low material waste on the job site.
SIP foundation-frost footings provided a fully insulated concrete slab. Sand on top of foam under the concrete help support the efficiency of the in-floor heating system by retaining heat. The heating bill for December, 2016 was only $244 during the height of the Minnesota winter.
