Crashes and illnesses drive up 2017 police deaths

from NBC News

The number of police officers and federal agents who died in the line of duty has jumped this year, an increase largely attributable to a spike in car crashes and job-related illnesses, according to a new report. The statistics were also released two days after the funeral of a New York police officer ambushed on July 5. more
