State DOTs head to White House for meeting about infrastructure
State and local transportation officials have been invited to meet this week with Trump administration personnel to brainstorm ideas for rebuilding the nation's infrastructure. The administration has held previous meetings on the subject but has yet to unveil a detailed proposal or said how it would pay for one. The White House has proposed $200 billion of direct federal infrastructure spending over 10 years, with the goal of using it to leverage an additional $800 billion in state, local and private investment.
