from The New York Times
New York State had more jobs last year than at any time since the last recession, though upstate regions continue to struggle, according to a report on employment published Monday by the state comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli. The figures show that more than 9.12 million New Yorkers worked a job in 2016, the highest total since 2008, when there were 9.14 million people employed in the state.
