Kathy Simpson shared her diagnosis of breast cancer with her son Kirk and said while she wasn’t planning on going anywhere, the disease might have other ideas. The Brighton, New York, woman told him the extent of care she did and didn't want if her cancer decided not to cooperate. "It took a couple of weeks to actually sink in, the mortality of it," Kirk Simpson said. "She could pass away and this would have to be done." The conversation wasn't the first that mother and son had had about death.
