Agritourism a growing trend in Michigan
from Cheboygan Daily Tribune
Michelle Walk, a Michigan State University Extension Educator based out of Sault Ste. Marie, attended the most recent Cheboygan County Planning Commission meeting to give the commissioners a presentation on a recent trend, agri-tourism. Walk's primary focus is community food systems. She works primarily with farmers' markets, small farms that want to sell directly to restaurants and other institutions. The other half of her work is based around tourism, so agri-tourism joins these two focuses for her.
