Kidneys donated after circulatory death underused in the US
from MedPage Today
Kidneys donated after circulatory death (DCD) are underused for transplant in the U.S., a new study suggests. Overall, 20% of DCD donor kidneys were discarded in the U.S. from 2008 to 2015. Discard rates varied from 3% to 33% among the country's 58 donor service areas, reported John Gill, MD, of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and colleagues.
