Regional leaders asking churches to help fight opioid epidemic

First Tennessee Development District Director of Workforce and Literacy Initiatives Lottie Ryans issued a call to action for churches of all denominations to help those in the throes of opioid addiction. Ryans and community leaders from Bristol, Virginia, Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee and doctors from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, were at Northeast State Community College on Tuesday to talk about the Holy Friendship Summit: Healing the Heart of Southern Appalachia.
