Dow's historic rise is made in Chicago, led by Boeing and Caterpillar
from Chicago Tribune
The Dow Jones industrial average grew to record levels last year, and significant portions of those gains were made in Chicago. Shares in Chicago-based Boeing have more than doubled in the last year, closing at $336.21 on Friday, as more people around the world take to the skies. That put the plane-maker ahead of the 29 other companies that constitute the Dow and gave Boeing the most influence in moving the index upward.
