CMC-Eastern Ontario Chapter Breakfast: Feb. 15 at the Rideau Club

PMI OVOC has agreed with the CAMC Eastern Ontario Chapter to share event information. Here is a link to their Feb. 15th Breakfast.

"Phoenix Pay System Implementation. If They Knew Then What We Know Now... Lessons Learned — What Consultants Should Tell Their Clients"

In February 2016, the Phoenix pay system was launched in over 34 government departments, affecting 120,000 employees. The federal government rolled out Phoenix to the remaining 67 departments in April 2016; and decommissioned the old payroll system. After the roll out, there were complaints from government employees about underpayments, over-payments, and non-payments. At the end of November 2017 the government reported the total number of outstanding financial and non-financial Phoenix claims had reached 551,000, affecting approximately 156,000 government employees.

Sandy Moir, lead consultant for the study, will present the main study findings. Sandy will also reflect on how she will apply the lessons learned in this study in her consulting work both now and in the future. Attendees will be encouraged to share their own impressions of the study findings and how the lessons learned might influence their own work with clients. more
