NJ refuses to sell land to PennEast for pipeline
The state and the New Jersey Conservation Foundation have rejected offers by PennEast to purchase land needed for the construction of its natural gas pipeline. Though the state Department of Environmental Protection has officially denied PennEast's application for permits to build the pipeline through Hunterdon County, approval of the project by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in January gave PennEast the go-ahead to make final offers to acquire land rights along the 110-mile route.
