Poor sleep: A powerful — but often ignored — culprit in learning

It blocks learning, causes memory difficulties, depletes energy, incites anxiety, evokes arguments and lays the groundwork for serious behavior and health problems. But when students struggle in school, it's usually ignored, adding to the students' struggles. The culprit? Poor sleep. Unfortunately, many children with learning disabilities suffer from sleep problems, problems that can create almost insurmountable barriers to effective learning.
