Texas sheriffs say they're outside the loop on the Dallas to Houston high-speed rail plan
from The Dallas Morning News
Plans for the first high-speed rail line in Texas appear to be on track toward approval. But some Texas lawmen say developers need to slow down and get them involved in the process. Sheriffs from eight of 10 counties along the Dallas to Houston proposed route of the rail line say the planning for the $15 billion project has been done without input from them and that, they say, is a problem. Those sheriffs called a news conference Thursday in Grimes County to publicly detail their concerns.
