Maryland becomes first state to alert drivers about unfixed auto recalls
As part of a pilot program funded by the U.S. government, Maryland has become the first state to alert drivers operating vehicles with open and unfixed recalls. The program was announced by Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration back in November 2017. To launch the program, the Maryland Department of Transportation was awarded a $222,300 grant from the U.S.
