Supply chain management has become a popular term in business over the last 25 years. The term first was coined in 1982 by Keith Oliver, a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. He defined supply chain management as “the management of upstream and downstream value-added flows of materials, final goods, and related information among suppliers, company, resellers, and final consumers.” However, it wasn’t until much later when the term supply chain management became popular. more
