Report: FDA investigating unauthorized herpes vaccine research
William Halford had spent two decades researching and developing a vaccine that he believed could bring relief to the millions of people afflicted with herpes. Since 1995, Halford had been conducting and publishing research on the herpes simplex virus, for which he had received small grants from the National Institutes of Health. But the biology professor at Southern Illinois University had run out of time.
