Americans want tougher tech regulations
from The Business Journals
A new poll shows that 83 percent of Americans think tech companies need tougher regulations for breaches of data privacy. Public support for federal regulation is much higher than last fall, Recode reports of the HarrisX poll. The survey taken after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's testimony to Congress showed that 53 percent of Americans believe tech companies should be regulated like banks. But 38 percent say they don't have faith in the federal government to do so effectively.
