Stroke guide retraction; a better risk score; bempedoic acid win
from MedPage Today
The American Heart Association retracted a large portion of its new stroke guidelines against strong opposition of the writing group, citing need for clarification on sections dealing with emergency medical systems, hospital stroke capabilities, telemedicine, brain imaging, and blood pressure, among others. The guideline's recommendation expanding the window for endovascular thrombectomy to 24 hours remains in effect.
